7 Amazing Hidden Beaches in Bali You Need to Know

As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, Bali is famous for its stunning beaches. Kuta, Legian, Nusa Dua and Sanur are popular names that you may already know. But, have you ever thought that apart from these famous names, Bali still has other beautiful beaches? The beach is far from the city, hidden between high cliffs and surrounded by forest.

You may need more time and effort to reach these hidden beaches, but your hard work will definitely pay off once you get there. The hidden beach is definitely worth a try.

1. Perasi Beach

This beach is also known as “Virgin Beach” or “White Sand Beach”. Located in Karangasem Regency, East Bali. If you like quiet and beautiful beaches, Perasi Beach is the right choice.

There are no hotels or villas near the beach, so you need to book a hotel in Denpasar or Karangasem. However, you can find many food stalls around the beach. You can enjoy strolling by the beach while eating some snacks and drinks. There are also chairs and canopies for rent if you want to lie down all day while looking at the panoramic view of the beach.

Perasi Beach is about four and a half kilometers from Candi Dasa. If you start the journey from Denpasar, it will take about an hour and a half to reach Candi Dasa. From here, you just need to follow the signs from the main Candidasa road in Bugbug towards Perasi Village and turn onto the small damaged road opposite Bale Agung Village Temple. This broken road will take you to the beach location.

Beach signage can be given several names such as “White Sand Beach”, “White Sand”, “Perasi Beach” or “Virgin Beach”. From here, you can walk down the hill for approximately one kilometer. This road will take you to the beach where parking is available. There are many palm trees nearby so you will feel cool and refreshed.

2. Balangan Beach

Balangan Beach is located near Uluwatu, one of the most popular destinations in Bali. This beach is favored by many surfers because of the high waves.

Unlike Perasi Beach, you can stay at the Guest House in Balangan or in several cottages near the beach.

3. Green Bowl Beach

This beach is located in the southern part of Bali and is quite difficult to reach. You can go to Green Bowl Beach via the unused Bali Cliff resort. Then, there are a hundred steps to go through and also a bat cave to go through. However, all your efforts in reaching this place will pay off once you reach it. The serenity with its stunning views is like heaven. The big waves are one of the spots that can be visited by professional surfers. Green Bowl Beach is truly a hidden beach with incredible natural beauty.

4. Amed Beach

The name “Amed” actually refers to a fishing village located in the eastern part of Bali. This place has the best places to see the sunrise as well as for diving and snorkeling.

Attractive coastal villages dotted along the coast with Mount Agung as a backdrop. You can reach Amed after driving about two hours from South Bali via Karangasem and Klungkung. This beach is also a great choice for anyone who enjoys visiting other popular local attractions such as the Tirta Gangga Water Palace and Goa Lawah Temple.

5. Dream Beach

Dream Beach is located on Nusa Lembongan, a small island on the east side of Bali. You need about a thirty minute boat ride from Sanur or Benoa Harbor.

With its stunning white sand just south of Nusa Lembongan, Dream Beach is a sight to behold. Rows of coconut trees and wild bushes around the beach add to the attractiveness of this beach. All this beauty is supported by budget hotels and local cafes.

6. Finn Beach

Finn Beach is a type of beach that is suitable for family recreation. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful beach panorama. To reach this beach, you can use the South Gau Beach road in the Ungasan area and follow the signs of The Finns.

The best moment on the way to this beach is when you take the cable lift which is flanked by two steep cliffs on your right and left. Admission may be more expensive than other beaches, but includes mouthwatering delicacies from The Finns. So, the price is very worth it.

7. Balian Beach

Volcanic black sand with high waves characterizes the west coast of Bali. This is sure to make every surfer fall in love. The atmosphere around is different from other beaches in Bali. It has a charming vibe.

Cheap accommodation is available near Balian, so you don’t have to worry about your budget when visiting this beach. You will need about two hours drive from Seminyak (depending on traffic) to reach Balian Beach. Because the road to the beach is also the road to Gilimanuk Harbor, you have to be more careful and patient with trucks or buses heading to Java Island.
